WHAT WE DO

LTN is about creating spaces in nature where we are able to focus on developing this unified sense of being in the world. We acknowledge loss in our fragmented individual and collective experiences in order to restore more healthful connections between our inner lives and outer natural surroundings. We may not yet be building new sustainable, ecological homes or growing our own nutritious food but we are about creating more meaningful moments of connection with nature to reestablish our humanity in the midst of our fragmented world.

We ask the two questions of “How do we live?” and “What do we do?” to help us towards the direction and activities that LTN will engage with. We share and discuss our experiences from volunteering in community gardens and organised tree-planting retreats to creating our own rituals in nature to mark a meaningful event in our lives. We aim to run workshops in the near future where the practice of mindfulness will provide the ground for the exploration of the individual and our relationship to nature.

HOW WE STARTED

LTN is initiated by Dr Chuey Y Loh and a growing number of people who have come together to talk, discuss and share dreams of living healthily and creatively with our natural environment.

Chuey is an experienced integrative psychotherapist and clinical supervisor of over 20 years. She has taught on the MA programme for psychotherapy at the Karuna Institute in Devon and worked on the NHS for many years. She is now in private practice. As a practitioner of Buddhist mindfulness and meditation, Chuey also runs meditation groups.

In starting this collective, Chuey brings together her love for the garden and the belief that nature nourishes all who takes the time to stay and connect to its restorative powers.
